Ciaran Tully Photography (NEW YORK)
VISION
Description
Photographed outside the Overthrow Boxing Club on Bleecker Street at the Bowery, this image captures the owner and trainer taking a moment in the sun.
The timing was completely accidental — Ciarán Tully came across the scene at just the right time of day. He named the photograph Vision, inspired by the idea that everyone who walks into the gym does so with a particular vision for themselves.
The image is mounted on the emulsion side of a Polaroid, a presentation technique unique to Tully’s work. He keeps the original instructions visible on one side and the dried emulsion on the other, giving the piece its distinctive finish.
